I completely agree. I actually like the old, minimalistic CV. I definitely won't be using the new "story".

I would argue that if a comment is that long, it should likely be added to the respective question/answer or whatever (same goes for the link). I don't think we should allow shortened links in the comments. However, I do like your second proposal, but I highly doubt that would get implemented.

In my opinion, those comments/down votes on your answer are uncalled for. If anything, I'd just include the for loop snippet in your answer and explicitly state that they have the same performance. Without clicking the JSperf link, it is somewhat ambiguous when you said "same performance".

On a related note, it's also odd how it's possible to have more silver badges than bronze badges. I have 109 silver and 101 bronze on SO. I didn't think that would be possible, but apparently it is.

I saw the same thing happen here and here today as well...
