Usually the tag scores update daily at 03:00 UTC. However, I have noticed that for about two weeks now the tag scores have stopped incrementing altogether. For the first few days I assumed that it was a temporary issue that would be picked up and resolved the next time the tag score job successfully completed a run, but despite waiting for several days, the problem has persisted, suggesting there may be a problem with the running of the scheduled tag-score script.
The tags on my home page have looked like this since around 14th December (archive on 2023-12-15 and archive on 2023-12-28, both showing 5,527 of my answers in r):
Whereas if I search my answers by user ID and the r tag I find 5,562 results, which is 35 answers more than are included in the tag totals shown in my profile and is the number of new answers I've posted since 14 December. Neither the answers, nor the upvotes / downvotes seem to have been incorporated into the tag totals since that time.
If tag scores aren't updated, other functionality of the site such as "top users" pages and tag badges will not update either. From looking at the "top users" pages for various tags over this period, this seems to be affecting other (?all) users. I was a bit surprised that it hadn't been raised already on meta.
The same problem appears to have cropped up from time to time in the distant past, and according to the accepted answer, on that occasion it appears to have been a bug caused by
competing and locking jobs being mean to each other at the same time
A similar issue was reported 10 years ago with several (maybe all) users being affected at that point. On that occasion, the accepted cause was:
One of our daily scheduled jobs was timing out, causing tag scores to not refresh. We changed the way we were calling the job that was timing out, so this issue shouldn't recur.
A delay of 2 or 3 days seems to be something that can be expected from time to time due to sporadic failure of the scheduled job. However, it does seem that, on both the previous occasions I could find where there was a very long delay in tags being updated, it was due to a recurrent, systematic problem that required some dev intervention.
I thought I would raise it here in case the devs need to have a look.

The tags are still not updating a week after originally posting this question. It feels like this is an important feature we are missing from the site. I appreciate that it might take time to fix, but it would be good to hear any feedback from the SE team on this.

We now seem to be at a month with no updates on the tag scores. This has several knock-on effects on other features on the site, as mentioned in the comments. It would be great to hear any updates on this.
