If a Staging Ground post gets edited and posted, doesn't it need to indicate that changes were made, under the CC license?
@ipod Migrated posts have a prominent "Migrated" link on them that goes to the previous revision history. That seems fine to me even if they don't have an "edited" indicator. (example: on SO, from SF)

Are questions about tar off-topic on Stack Overflow?
Regarding policy change, Unix & Linux only launched a year before OP joined, so I think people were still warming up to it at that point and figuring out what topics should go where, with SO still serving as a sort of catchall.

Use list formatting. Typo (missing word; inferred "specific way"). Fix shorthand "[unix.se]" (Shorthands only work in comments).
