Sockpuppet accounts are extra accounts which are all owned by the same person. Use this tag to discuss the uses and abuses of these extra accounts.
A sockpuppet is an extra account created in addition to the user's "normal" account. While some sockpuppets are used for abusive purposes, a sockpuppet account can be legitimate, provided you play by the rules.
Users found to be abusing sockpuppet accounts will have such accounts deleted and their main account will be suspended or deleted. Note that having more than one account for a legitimate purpose is permitted.
