Unaccountably, that gave me an error:

Reverse synonym makefile already proposed on the tag makefiles.

Which looks like a non-sequitur.

Still, [makefiles] is a synonym of [makefile], so there might be a lost old synonym-proposal screwing things up, though neither sede nor the synonym-page show anything.
