I've just started editing questions. I typically focus on style, grammer, and spelling. However, in the process I often also remove introductory 'fluff' like "This may be simple but, ... " or "Can you help me with this?" I do so when I think it will make the question more direct and readible, but I also wonder if preserving the OP's voice is important in the spirit of a more conversational style.

These edits have been approved, but I was wondering in general what the policy was.
