We have posts, and as we’ve seen comments aren’t great for fleshing out minor points of debate. Chat has always been that third place, we just haven’t used it lately for that. | |

With per-post chat rooms being suggested instead of comments, it already becomes substantially harder for me to keep track of a discussion, if we use one general chat room I probably won't be able to follow specific discussions at all. And the tavern on MSE is rarely used for post-specific discussions | |
