I've had many good conversations in there, and if someone wants to be disruptive, we just tell them to go away, ignore them and (if necessary) find someone with superpowers to kick them or ban them. It happens less often than you think.

The most common disruption? Someone who wants to ask their crappy programming question in the chat room because it won't pass muster on the main site.
